In Singapore, cervical cancer is the 10th most common cancer and the 8th most common cause of cancer deaths among Singaporean women in 2015. When detected early, cervical cancer is more than 90% treatable in the early stages. Therefore, regular screening is encouraged as there are no signs or symptoms at the early stages of cervical cancer. [1]

If you're currently experiencing any of the following symptoms, please get in touch with our partner clinic immediately.

High-risk HPV infection of the cervix does not cause any signs and symptoms. The abnormality on the cervix is detectable by cervical screening (Pap test) and by HPV DNA (genetic material) tests. Which is why regular screening is crucial in detecting the virus.

Some HPV infections may cause genital warts.

Symptoms of cervical cancer include abnormal vaginal bleeding such as bleeding after menstrual periods or after sex. There may also be changes in the amount, color or smell of the vaginal discharge.
